Wiki

The fungal genomes wiki we provide on this site is a place for researchers to share information about genomes, analysis, and coordinate projects relating to fungal genomes. We aim to make protocols for both computational and wet-lab experimental work including Care and Feeding of Fungi.  Login to our Wiki is freely available after you register and we encourage you to contribute content or corrections to the information that is currently available.

We are also happy to host private pages for genome project coordination as we currently do for several of the projects we participate in.

There are several other wikis for fungi on the web, and we will try and keep this list up to date.

MycorWiki, a section of MycorWeb, will be publicly launched before the end of July. It will be dedicated to mycorrhizas biology, physiology, genomics and ecology.

Sure - it is great to have multiple resources from groups working on fungi.  The wiki on this site is mainly focused around research on fungal evolution through genomic analyses and coordinating those projects.  Mainly it will be computational and molecular protocols and research coordination.

The full background on any particular fungus is probably better housed at mycoweb or other sites and we're happy to have inter-wiki linking for resources that are better represented on mycoweb's wiki.

Is this much different than The Mycology Wiki hosted at MycoWiki.org? They have forums to discuss topics related to phylogenetics as well as some features you would hope to see like a mushroom identification section. Their site is under construction, but seems to be aimed at a broader mycological theme including what is contained on this site.
